Kathy Nace, MA, LPC, NCC

Maybe you’ve arrived here feeling stuck, overwhelmed, hopeless, or fed-up. Maybe your life and relationships aren’t what they could be and you feel alone. Maybe you’ve tried everything you can think of, but nothing seems to work.

Let’s talk. Hope and healing begin as you feel heard, understood and companioned. I’d be so honored to hear your story and work with you on new possibilities. My approach is client-centered and trauma-informed, drawing from a variety of therapies as needed. I’m trained to work with individuals, couples, and families in a wide range of subjects; I also have personal experience as a foster and adoptive parent, caring for aging parents, and supporting persons with terminal illnesses.

My clients are from diverse ethnicities, backgrounds and beliefs. I see faith as an invaluable resource without pressuring you to believe as I do – your questions are welcome.

Kathy holds a BS in Home Economics & Liberal Arts from Kansas State University and a Masters in Marriage, Couple & Family Therapy from MidAmerica Nazarene University. She is a Nationally Certified Counselor verified by Psychology Today and has trained as a Domestic Mediator in the State of Kansas. She presently works under the supervision of Elizabeth Russell, MA, LCPC #2384.

Kathy Nace sees clients at the Overland Park offices of Christian Psychological Services.

I became a therapist because…

I’ve always been drawn to conversations that matter. After several other careers (graphic designer, event planner, conference coordinator, writer/marketer, home educator, home health provider) I realized that I would drop everything to listen to someone in emotional or spiritual pain. My “1001 Interests” help create a connection with just about anyone!

A Note About Insurance

I became a therapist because I value meaningful connections with people and am committed to partnering with my clients in healing and growth. I do not like the idea that insurance providers can limit access to care. Therefore, I offer reasonable rates with the option of requesting a sliding scale fee in cases of financial hardship. I can provide a billable receipt and/or submit to insurance for possible reimbursement; however, clients are responsible for payment at the time of service.
